Jesus taught us to love one another. Granted, He never said anything about having to 'like' them, but we did say that we are to love one another.
We are to love one another as God love us. Granted, there are probably tons of things that we, as fallible humans, do on this earth that God sees and is just rolling His eyes and thinking "you've got to be kidding me!" But He still loves us. So we are to love one another.
This past Sunday, I quoted a book (sorry - can't quote the book, author, or anything else word for word now... It was an "oldie but a goodie Message", and the info was from a commentary, and it's my day off, so to get the info means to go to my office. Can't do it...so continuing - ) where the author said that if God judged the way we wanted Him to, He'd have to just throw everything away and go fishing.
The people who came to Pierce to protest at a funeral this past weekend was proving Augustine's point, but for someone to get upset when I say that we should pray for these people is also proving Augustine's point.
Jesus taught us to pray that God forgives OUR sins as we FORGIVE those who SIN against us (and by us, we are one in a community of Christ).
So why waste time and energy allowing oneself to get upset about another's actions? Just smile, and let them wonder what you're up to.
And then remember what Christ taught us!
